About District Library Yamunanagar (Jagadhri)

District library Yamuna agar was established as a sub-divisional library in January 1986 and upgraded to the district library in 1990. It is situated near the civil hospital, civil lines, Jagadhri, Distt. Yamunanagar. Presently there are about 24503 books in different languages like Hindi, English, Punjabi, and Urdu on different subjects like Social science, literature, education, cooking, yoga, sports as well a good collection of reference books and has subscribed 8 newspapers and 6 magazines. The library has approx.1750 active members and it charges Rs 500 for a lifetime membership. Library serves approximately 80-90 daily readers/visitors and has a sitting capacity of 80 people at a time. The library has facilities like a computer lab with internet facilities, CCTV monitoring. Reprography service is also available on a minimal payment basis. The library organizes different occasional programs like Librarian day( the Birth Anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan), World Book & Copyright Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Independence Day etc. Library remains open for the public from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on all working days except Sunday, last Saturday of the month and other public holidays.
